The Gospel of John is a most remarkable book, written by one who enjoyed a special closeness to the Lord Jesus Christ. It is John who is described as ‘the disciple whom Jesus loved’, even though he loves all who are his disciples. Not surprisingly, John provides us with a rich picture of Jesus’ person and work.
