Home for Christmas brings real-life stories of hardship and success into the Advent season. The book’s four chapters capture stories of formerly incarcerated or formerly gang-affiliated men and women as they find work and new life through Homeboy Industries in Los Angeles, California. Led by Catholic priest Gregory Boyle, Homeboy Industries provides employment and training opportunities that its participants might not otherwise be able to access. These men and women share their memories and experiences of Christmas in light of the hope and new life they’ve experienced at Homeboy. Author Justin Coleman matches the stories with Scripture and the Advent themes of hope, love, joy, and peace.
